RCVUNCHILD reports whether the respondent is able to take unpaid leave for birth or adoption of a child in his or her current job.

Respondents who can take unpaid leave on their jobs were given this question. See RCVUNPDLV.

Respondents could also report other ways they are able to take unpaid leave such as own illness/medical care (see RCVUNSELF), illness/medical care of another family (see RCVUNFAM), eldercare other than for illness (see RCVUNELCARE), vacation (see RCVUNVAC), errands/personal reasons (see RCVUNPERS), or for childcare, other than for illness (see RCVUNCHCARE).

RCVUNCHILD was gathered as part of the Leave Module of the ATUS interview. Analyses that include RCVUNCHILD should use LVWT as the weight.
