Description
WHYABSNT reports the reason for absence from work if the respondent was not at his/her job during the preceding week.
EMPSTAT reports the individual's employment status, including whether or not he/she is employed but absent from work.
WHYABSNT was collected at the time of the ATUS interview. Reason for absence from work was also collected at the time of the final CPS interview, 2-5 months before the ATUS interview. See WHYABSNT_CPS8.

- Employed ATUS respondents who were absent from work the preceding week.
