Description

FAMBUS_PAY reports whether the respondent receives pay or profits from the family business or farm.

FAMBUS_PAY_CPS8 was drawn from the final CPS interview, conducted 2-5 months before the ATUS interview. Information on whether the respondent receives pay or profits from a family business or farm was also collected at the time of the ATUS interview. See FAMBUS_PAY.

This variable is comparable across years from 2003 onward.

Universe

ATUS respondents who did unpaid work in the family business or farm in the last seven days AND household member other than respondent or the respondent's spouse/unmarried partner is/are the business owner(s).
