ECYEAR is a 3-digit numeric variable reporting the number of years the respondent provided care to the eldercare recipient.

Description
ECYEAR reports how many years the eldercare recipient has received care from the ATUS respondent.
This variable only includes recipients who received more than 1 year of eldercare from the respondent. Information about how long the recipient has received care if the care has been less than one year is available in ECMONTH. Temporary conditions that do not require ongoing care, such as a broken leg, are excluded from the definition of eldercare.
