Description

FOODSTAMP reports whether anyone in the household received Food Stamp or SNAP benefits during the past 30 days. Users should note that in October 2008, the Federal food stamp benefits program name was changed to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).

Information on food stamp benefits was collected during the Eating and Health Module of the ATUS interview. Analyses that include FOODSTAMP should use EHWT as the weight.
