Description
OTPAY reports the respondent's usual weekly overtime earnings in dollars.
Overtime pay is included in the gross weekly earnings variable, EARNWEEK.
OTPAY was collected at the time of the ATUS interview. However, earnings information was only collected at that time for respondents who changed jobs or employers since the final CPS interview, or whose earnings were allocated in the final CPS interview. For other respondents, earnings information was carried forward from the final CPS interview. CPSUPDATE may be useful as an indication that earnings information may be out of date.
Weekly overtime earnings information was also collected at the time of the final CPS interview, 2-5 months before the ATUS interview. See OTPAY_CPS8.
