LINENO_CPS8

Description

LINENO_CPS8 identifies each person within a given household at the time of the final CPS interview.

LINENO is a person identifier that was assigned at the time of the ATUS interview. Because household composition may have changed between the dates of the CPS and ATUS interviews, LINENO and LINENO_CPS8 may not match. Also, because the final CPS interview was conducted 2-5 months before the ATUS interview, members of an ATUS respondent household who entered between the ATUS and CPS interviews will have a missing value for LINENO_CPS8.

PERNUM is an additional person identifier available for all person records in the dataset.

LINENO_CPS8 and related technical variables are needed to link these data with the Current Population Survey data that is not yet offered through our system. This document provides detailed information on linking files.
