Before HRHHID2_CPS8 was created in April 2004, the information in this variable was located in three other variables: HRSAMPLE_CPS8, HRSERSUF_CPS8, and HUHHNUM_CPS8. HRHHID2_CPS8 and related technical variables are needed to link these data with the Current Population Survey data that is not yet offered through our system. This document provides detailed information on linking files.

This variable is fully comparable across years, but it is only available for households with the final CPS interview after April 2004.
