CPSUPDATE reports whether the respondent earnings was updated during the ATUS interview or pulled from the final CPS interview, which took place 2-5 months before the ATUS interview.

Information on earnings and hours worked was updated only for respondents who (1) changed jobs or employers since the final CPS interview or (2) whose earnings were allocated in the final CPS interview. CPSUPDATE may be useful as an indication that earnings information may be out of date.

Earnings variables from the ATUS interview include hourly earnings (HOURWAGE) and weekly earnings (EARNWEEK). Earnings variables from the final CPS interview include hourly earnings (HOURWAGE_CPS8) and weekly earnings (EARNWEEK_CPS8).

2003-2010: Employed ATUS respondents, excluding those who are self-employed or working without pay.
